Character Interview: Reid & Emma from Between The Lines + A Giveaway

Between the Lines takes place on and around the set of the upcoming Hollywood film, School Pride, so I’m going to play the part of a reporter, interviewing the film’s leading man and lady.

So here I bring you a probing, possibly inappropriate, but entirely entertaining interview with Hollywood playboy, Reid Alexander, and upcoming starlet, Emma Pierce.

Can you describe each other in one word?
Emma: talented

Reid: lovely
Does that sound right?
Emma: I don't think anyone's ever called me that before...

Reid: I guess so, or I'd probably be out of a job by now.
What drew you to your respective roles in this retelling of Pride & Prejudice? Are either of you fans of the original?
Emma: Pride & Prejudice is my favorite novel, and Elizabeth Bennet is a wonderful heroine. I hope my performance does her justice.

Reid:  I figured playing a rich, decent-looking, arrogant guy would be a professional challenge for me...
Now for some lightning questions – answer these with the very first thing that pops into your head
Boxers or briefs?
Emma:  (blushing) Huh. Um. Boxers?

Reid:  definitely boxers
What’s on your iPod right now?
Emma:  Lady Gaga and All Time Low. Also Rocket to the Moon, because my best friend likes to add stuff to my iPod.

Reid:  Figure Me Out by Twisted Infinity. It's sick. My friend Walt is the front man. If you don't know them, you will soon. Lil Wayne's How to Love is also wearing out the replay button.
Strangest fan encounter?
Emma:  I haven't really had a lot of fan encounters. I guess watching Reid's fans has been the strangest thing so far. They're very... enthusiastic.

Reid:  Trust me, I can't tell you the strangest. I'm still trying to forget it. But I did have someone get a tattoo of my face on his side, and he wanted my autograph under it -- so he could get that tattooed as well. I did it, but I felt a tiny bit violated afterward.
Last book you read?
Emma:  I just finished To the Lighthouse. I'm on a Virginia Woolf kick at the moment.

Reid:  Pride & Prejudice. After I got the part, I decided I should see what all the fuss was about.
Celebrity crush?
Emma:  Er, James Franco?

Reid:  Hmm. Right now, I'd have to say Emma.
Would you date a Weasley?
Emma:  As long as it's Ron, then yes.

Reid:  No, but I'd be more than happy to console Hermione after Ron dumps her for Emma.
Thank you Reid and thank you Emma. It's been a pleasure getting to know you both better. Good luck with School Pride!

Giveaway has ended, but the question I posed was:
What's your idea of a 'Hollywood' ending?

My idea of a Hollywood ending is when the hero and heroine conquer and pledge their love to one another.

Thanks for the giveaway! :)

My idea of a Hollywood ending is basically the classic fairy tale ending. After some huge problem that they solve together, they end up in love and live happily ever after. xD

Okay, I admit I don't believe in happy endings, but I love them if they are not sugar-sweet super-ultra candy-coated!

AWWWW! What a sweet interview! I'm not entering since I don't have a kindle, but this definitely made the book more interesting to me.

I'm actually working on a character interview right now and am having a ridiculously hard time with questions. So I totally appreciate these awesome ones!

Oh, Hollywood ending! It has to have one of the MC realizing that they have always loved the other MC, goes running across town to profess their undying love (probably at the airport). Totally unbelievable, but fun to watch.

Thanks for this giveaway. A hollywood ending is when the guy/girl gets the Girl/guy or when the underdog triumphs over all.

Great Giveaway!
I think the ending would be when the two main characters endure the "cicumstance" and then realize they are stronger for it- classic fairy tale!

My idea of holiday ending would be girl meets boy who her parents forbid her to see. They over come their obstacles and live happily ever after. Please enter me in contest. I would love to read this book.

Oh my goodness what a cute and fun interview! Awesome post, Nikki. This interview totally made me want to read this book. Now on to the question: What's your idea of a 'Hollywood' ending? A happily ever after ending of course. One where everyone is happy and in love. Yeah, yeah, what can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic, hehe.

Thanks so much for the contest, Nikki! =]

My Hollywood ending is when everything ends perfectly. The main characters have each other and overcome their problems. Very cliche I know, but I love it!
